The Besynersharp Pro Electric Knife Sharpener has been aggressively popping up on almost every website this Black Friday period. I have seen its ads on eBay, Amazon, and even on TikTok.
The funny part is that I actually bought mine months ago, long before the current Black Friday hype. Now that it is trending harder than ever and being aggressively promoted this Black Friday and Cyber Monday period, I knew it was time to write an honest review so that anyone planning to buy it understands exactly what they are getting.
Here is my full, brutally honest experience using the Besynersharp Pro, from a real kitchen with real knives and real expectations.

The Besynersharp Pro is marketed as a compact electric knife sharpener designed to give dull knives a brand new life with almost no effort. It comes with a fixed USB cord attached permanently to the device.
Most listings describe it as high performance, powerful, and capable of sharpening different types of blades. The ads show smooth, dramatic knife transformations that make it look like a premium kitchen tool worth every penny. Some sellers even claim it is professional grade. Others use phrases like advanced torque or precision sharpening.
My experience using this electric knife sharpener
When mine arrived few months back, I was excited but also a bit confused because the device felt extremely lightweight. Still, I plugged it into an old phone charger brick and turned it on. The moment it started buzzing, I knew the power was not what the ads claimed. It was a very soft buzz. The kind of sound you hear from a weak mini fan. Definitely not the sound of a powerful electric motor.
I began testing it on my everyday chef knife which is the most hardworking knife in my kitchen. I sliced the blade into the sharpener and felt almost no resistance. After several passes, I checked the edge. It did not look sharper. It did not perform sharper. It still dragged on tomatoes and struggled through vegetables. If anything, it only looked slightly polished, not sharpened.
I went through my other knives one after the other and the results were consistently underwhelming. No matter the angle or number of tries, the Besynersharp Pro simply did not have the power to handle thicker kitchen blades. The USB power is too weak and the internal mechanism too basic.
However, when I tested it on my kitchen scissors, the results were surprisingly decent. Scissors have a different blade structure and much smaller surface area, so this sharpener actually managed to give them a better cut. I also tested it on a tiny pen knife and it performed reasonably well. That was when it clicked for me. The Besynersharp Pro is not truly designed for actual kitchen knives, despite the ads saying otherwise. It is more suited for small, thin blades.
If I had known this earlier, I would have skipped it completely and purchased a proper knife sharpener that uses real power or a high quality manual sharpening option.
Is the Besynersharp Pro a Scam?
I would not call it a total scam because it does work for scissors and very small pen knives. But the marketing is extremely exaggerated and the value isn’t worth the price. But what many shoppers do not know is that this exact sharpener sells for eight to ten dollars on AliExpress (see image below)
The very same design. The same body. The same USB cord. Just at its real manufacturing price. Many websites simply inflate the cost during the holiday shopping rush, especially now that Black Friday is here, and package it as a premium device.
Many shoppers are currently being misled by the professional sounding descriptions and impressive product graphics.
So is it a scam? Not exactly. But is it overhyped, overpriced, and misrepresented. Yes. Absolutely.
Better Alternatives
After my experience with this electric knife sharpener, I hopped on Amazon.com and luckily found a sturdy knife sharpener that has been serving me for months now. It’s the Smiths Adjustable Manual Knife Sharpener for $29. It Repair, Restore & Polish Blades.
This time around I decided to go for a manual sharpener as I am unsure the USB powered electric ones are as effective as promised. Before you buy this, you should be aware it’s not a quick fix, just like any blade shapener, it takes some time to do, Also, it does create quite a bit of shavings from the blade, but that is to be expected most of the time.
If you’re still keen on buying an electric knife, you should check out the SHARPAL 198H Electric Knife Sharpener on Amazon.com. I’ve heard so much about it, though I’ve not bought it.

Final Thoughts
The Besynersharp Pro is trending heavily this Black Friday and Cyber Monday season, and I completely understand why shoppers might be tempted to grab it while the discounts look juicy. But please go in with realistic expectations. It is not going to sharpen your kitchen knives the way the ads suggest. At best, it will handle scissors and very small blades. At worst, it will sit in your kitchen drawer used only once.
If you are considering it because the ads look convincing, remember that the real value of this gadget is around eight to ten dollars. Anything above that is just marketing. If you truly need a reliable knife sharpener for kitchen use, you are better off investing in a well made manual or electric sharpener that has proven performance.
