I ordered MagVolt Pro charger, waited for it for 3 weeks, received it and tested it thoroughly. This is my full honest review: where it shines, where it disappoints, and whether it’s one of those viral gadgets that looks better in a promo video than in everyday life.

What MagVolt Pro Promises (The Hype)

Before I got it, the claims sounded like a tech dream:

  • It supports ultra-fast charging speeds (sometimes marketed as “3× faster” or “next-gen charging”).
  • It’s safe — protects against overheating, overcharging, short circuits.
  • It works with many devices (phones, tablets) regardless of brand.
  • It’s a premium build — sleek, durable, future-proof.

But as any mom with experience knows: gadgets get tested hard in real life, with kids pressing on them, the charger being tugged, the phone being moved, wires spilled, temperature changes, etc.

First Impressions: Out of the Box

When it finally arrived, my first reaction was “Okay, not terrible.” But first thing I noticed was that instead of MagVolt Pro, what was written on it was Quickcharge 3.0. Now, if you’re an online shopper like me you might have come across Ads for QuickCharge 3.0 sometime last year. With multiple ports, it was touted as the best for travel and home use.

So simply put, MagVolt Pro is QuickCharge 3.0, but before I checked for reviews, I decided to put it to test.

My Experience using MagVolt Pro Charger

My first test: I placed my phone (at 22 %) on MagVolt. In 20 mins, it was 80 %. However, I noticed my phone was unusually warm even though I had switched off WiFi connection.

Now for my work devices;

It will not charge my Mac Pro, even though other 45W chargers work. I have a generic 45W charger that will charge the Mac. I even have an older Dell 35W charger that works. Of course, both will charge the Mac more slowly than the inluded magsafe charger, but they willl at least charge. `With this charger, my Mac tries to charge and keeps giving up, making a slight noise as it does so.

It does not charge the Windows laptop well either. This laptop will draw 45 watts. I think this adapter tries and fails to deliver 45 watts. When charging my Windows laptop while using it, power will cut in and out every few minutes. My theory is that it’s overheating so I will not use it to charge my laptop going forward.

Pros

  • It will “super fast charge” my Samsung S20FE, per the phone messages, however it’s not amazing. It’s perhaps 10-20% faster at getting the battery from 0% to 100%. That’s a subjective measure right now. I have not had a chance to time it. I think super fast charging is faster from 0-50% then slows down so as to not overheat the battery.
  • – It will charge my Dell XPS laptop that uses 45 watt charging. The laptop does not complain about a “slow charger”
  • – The size and weight are comparable to other 45W chargers.

Cons

  • It’s an ordinary 4 ports charger which originally costs $10 or less.
  • The prongs are not retractable
  • Not a travel-size block (it’s chunky)
  • Doesn’t come in different colors but that’s me nitpicking

Is MagVolt Pro a Scam?

I wouldn’t call it a straight-up scam because yes, it does charge. But is it anywhere near what the ads promise? No. Not even close.

The packaging was generic, the charger underperforms, and the customer service is sketchy at best. It feels like one of those mass-produced products white-labeled by dozens of sites just to make a quick buck. The name “MagVolt Pro” sounds legit, but don’t be fooled, you would probably find the same charger on AliExpress for $8 under another name.

This same charger has been sold under different names; Quick Charge Pro, Hyper Charge, Xcharge, Quick Charge Pro 3.0, and as usual they undelivered in their claims.

Better Charger Alternatives (That Actually Work)

If you’re looking for something reliable and actually fast, here are a few chargers I’d recommend instead on Amazon.com:

All of these are well-reviewed, tested, and backed by real brands with customer support — and you’ll probably find them cheaper on Amazon than what I paid for Hyper Charge Pro.

Final Thoughts

Magvolt Pro charger was a letdown. I bought into the hype, hoping to finally have a universal charger that could power all our devices fast and safely. Instead, I ended up with a warm brick that charges slower than what I already had.

Unless you enjoy wasting money and chasing down unresponsive customer service, do yourself a favor and skip this one. There are way better options out there that actually do what they claim.
