If you want to buy the Ulike Air 10, here’s a honest review from a stay at home mom of three who tested this hair removal device.

A little confession; I have PCOS. One of the things I’ve had to deal with over the years is unwanted facial and body hair. It’s something I’ve gotten used to managing, but that doesn’t mean I enjoy it. Before being gifted the Ulike Air 10 by my sisters this past Mother’s day, I was having professional laser hair removal done, although I eventually had to cut back because our household expenses were going up.

So when my sisters surprised me with this little device, I was genuinely over the moon. But after using it for several weeks, here’s my brutally honest review that prepares you for this device if you already have it in your cart.

About Ulike Air 10

The Ulike Air 10 is a home IPL hair removal device designed to reduce hair growth over time. It has different modes, including an SHR mode, and the device automatically adjusts the intensity according to your skin tone.

One thing I really appreciate is the safety design. It won’t flash unless the device is positioned properly against your skin, so there is less chance of accidentally using it incorrectly. There is definitely a little learning curve when you first start using it, but once you get the hang of positioning it properly, it becomes much easier.

And before anyone asks, no, I don’t consider this the same thing as professional laser hair removal.

Ulike Air 10 hair removal device vs Professional Laser

Let me say this because I have actually had professional laser treatments before. The Ulike Air 10 is not as powerful as professional laser hair removal.

So whenever I see reviews making it sound like this little home device is going to give you exactly the same experience as a professional laser machine, I honestly don’t agree.

Obviously, they can’t sell a device intended for home use that has the same power as professional equipment.

That doesn’t mean the Ulike Air 10 doesn’t work. In my experience, it absolutely does. It just works differently, and you need to be patient and consistent with it.

The biggest difference for me is convenience. With professional laser, I’d go to an appointment and be done. With this, I’m the technician, the patient and the person cleaning up afterward!

Where to Buy

The Ulike Air 10 is available for sale on the official website and on Amazon. I always prefer shopping off Amazon as returns and refunds are guaranteed in case of issues. If you’re an Amazon girlie like me, get the Ulike Air 10 IPL deluxe for 26% discount limited time sale on the brand’s Amazon storefront.

How to use

Just like the instructions on the manual, here’s how I’ve been using this hair removal device;

For the first four weeks, I used it every two days. I treated my mustache, chin, underarms and legs.

Yes, every two days.

And this is probably my biggest complaint about using a home IPL device.

It takes me roughly 30 minutes to do my legs, bikini area and underarms, and having to shave beforehand and then repeat the treatment every two days can become exhausting.

I’m a mom of three. Finding 30 minutes isn’t always as simple as it sounds!

I am now in week five, so I’ve moved into the maintenance stage according to the instructions. The manual recommends touch ups every two weeks or once a month depending on how quickly your hair grows, so that’s what I’m following.

My Results after using this laser hair removal device for weeks

My expectations weren’t super high, given the fact that I have course, thick, dark hair but after few sessions there has been a massive noticable reduction in actively growing hair follicles.

Facial hair

This is where I was pleasantly surprised. My mustache and chin hair are practically gone.

I still notice a little bit of hair around my lips, but I think that’s partly my fault because I was being extremely careful around that area and probably skipped some spots.

Still, considering where I started, I’m really happy with the difference.

As someone with PCOS, facial hair is one of those things that can be particularly frustrating, so seeing this much reduction has honestly made me very happy.

Underarms

My underarms are probably where I’ve seen the most impressive difference. I went an entire week without shaving and, honestly, it looked like I had shaved the day before.

I was shocked.

If I continue with the treatments and the hair keeps reducing at this rate, I genuinely wouldn’t be surprised if I eventually have very little hair growing there.

I’m not going to promise that because everyone’s hair growth is different, especially with PCOS, but so far, I’m impressed.

My Legs

My legs are also doing really well. They’re basically hairless at the moment, apart from one little patch where I accidentally skipped an area.

And honestly, that was completely my fault.

I’m not always as precise as I should be when I’m trying to cover both legs, so I’ve learned that you really need to take your time and make sure you’re treating the entire area.

I think I’m also starting to notice little bald spots on my legs, which I’m taking as a good sign that the treatment is working.

Hopefully, as I continue with the maintenance treatments, those patches will become more widespread and eventually I’ll only have very fine hair left.

Bikini Area

This is the area I’m taking much more slowly.

I tested a small spot first, just as the manual recommends. I also tend to get irritation from shaving in this area, so I’m being extra careful.

For now, I’ve only treated a tiny patch during my follow ups because I don’t want to keep using the device on irritated skin.

I’m going to let my skin completely settle before continuing.

Does the Ulike Air 10 Hurt?

On low, fast, and normal setting it is completely pain free two flashes of light. When using high mode there are areas that feel like a rubber band is being snapped against your skin, and SHR mode is 4 pulses of light the last one also feels like a rubber band. It doesn’t hurt per say, but you definitely feel it working.

But here’s the funny thing: if you told me I could endure a little more discomfort and get faster results, I probably would!

I’m not someone who needs everything to be completely pain free if it means getting the job done quicker.

My Little Tip; make sure the device is properly pressed against your skin.

I noticed that when I started pressing it more firmly against my skin and making sure I had proper contact, the treatment felt even easier.

The device won’t flash unless it’s positioned correctly, so it actually helps you learn how to hold it properly.

What I don’t really like about Ulike Air 10 IPL.

My biggest complaint isn’t really the device itself. It’s the time it takes to get the work done. They advertise full body session in roughly 10 minutes buuut that’s not accurate at all (they are referring to maintinence sessions on fast mode once you’ve reached your desired results) in all reality it takes about 2 hours to thoroughly do your legs tummy and nether region (instructions are to zap each area you are treating two or three times per session)

Doing this every two days for the first four weeks was tiring.

You have to shave, find the time, treat each area carefully and remember to do it again two days later. When you’re a busy mom, that can feel like another chore added to an already long list of things to do.

Professional laser is expensive, but I will admit that I miss the convenience of going for one appointment and then not having to think about hair removal for quite a while.

With Ulike, you save money and get to do everything at home, but you have to put in the time and stay consistent.

Pros

It actually works for me. My facial hair, underarm hair and leg hair have all reduced significantly.

The safety features are reassuring. The device won’t flash unless it’s positioned properly.

It’s particularly exciting for me as someone with PCOS. Hair growth can be stubborn, so seeing noticeable reduction has been a big deal for me.

Cons

The treatment schedule can be exhausting, especially during the first four weeks.

It isn’t as powerful as professional laser hair removal.

You need patience and consistency rather than expecting overnight results.

Would I Recommend the Ulike Air 10?

Yes, I would. And because this was a Mother’s Day gift from my sisters, I think there’s something extra special about seeing it actually become useful rather than becoming another gadget sitting in a drawer.

I’m only at week five, so I’m not going to pretend I know what my final results will look like yet. But so far?

I’m very happy with my Ulike Air 10.

And if those little bald patches on my legs are any indication of what’s coming, I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what the next few months bring.
