Last month, I got a mail request from a fan to try Azuna Air Freshener. As a stay-at-home mom of three (plus one fur baby), keeping our home smelling clean and feeling fresh is a daily battle. So, when I heard of Azuna Fresh all natural odor eliminator air freshener, I was super excited.

Could a little jar of gel really purify the air and knock out odors? The reviews were glowing. Like, suspiciously glowing. But I figured, why not try it?

What is Azuna?

Azuna markets itself as a natural air purifier that’s:

  • Made from tea tree oil and other plant-based ingredients
  • Non-toxic and safe for kids and pets
  • Designed to eliminate odors and prevent mold and bacteria
  • Comes in various forms – small gel jars, pouches, sprays, pods, laundry balls, e.t.c
  • Supposed to last 60–90 days

Sounds magical, right? No no flames, no fake perfume clouds—just “fresh air.” But does it actually work?

Our Experience Using Azuna Air Freshener

I ordered a 4-pack of the small jars on Amazon as I didn’t want to deal with the shipping hassles of ordering from the official website. The packaging was cute and minimal. Each jar had a simple screw-top lid and a faint herbal smell subtle, not too overpowering.

Week 1:

I placed them in their spots and… waited. At first, I noticed a slight improvement, especially in the mudroom. It smelled a little less like wet socks and more like… a neutral hallway. Not bad.

Week 2:

By now, the scent had faded a bit. I had to get up close to the jar to even smell it. Meanwhile, the diaper genie in the nursery was back to doing its evil work.

Week 3 & Beyond:

At this point, the Azuna jars were just decor. I honestly didn’t notice any major odor difference anymore, and no one else in the family did either. My husband asked, “Did you put those things out yet?” and they’d been sitting in plain sight for three weeks. 😬

Alternatives I’d Recommend

After Azuna fizzled, I went back to some tried-and-true solutions:

Pros

  • Subtle, non-perfume scent
  • Easy to use—just pop the lid and place it somewhere
  • Safe for pets and kids (huge plus!)
  • Natural ingredients

Cons

  • Effectiveness fades fast—maybe 7–10 days tops
  • Doesn’t eliminate strong odors, just lightly masks them

Does Azuna Freshener Work?

If you’re looking for a light, natural option to maybe freshen up a small bathroom or closet, Azuna might work briefly. But for real-life odor control—especially in busy, messy households like mine—it just didn’t cut it. I wanted it to be my no-fuss, no-flame solution… but it barely made a dent in the stink.

Final Thoughts

Azuna Fresh was a nice idea… but in my experience, it was more hype than help. The natural approach is great in theory, but for a high-traffic, kid-filled, dog-loving household like ours? I need odor control that does more than whisper at the smell and hope it leaves quietly.

If you’re sensitive to perfumes and want something very subtle for a tiny space, you might like Azuna. But if you’re fighting the good fight against real-life stink like I am, this won’t be your miracle product.

  1. Agree about STDEI GLP-1. Red flag about packaging, and no list of ingredients. No way to return. Throw away money.

  2. I bought Azuna too, but I bought the apartment sized kit ( two glass jars and a 12oz bag of gel). Ordered the citrus scent. I have fragrance allergies and have to be careful. First off, I need to note I am a huge fan of Tea Tree oil. I use it for many things. We live remote, off grid, two story cabin with two medium sized house dogs. Ok, got the kit and put some gel in one jar…being cautious of a strong scent…put it out in the living room…I loved the smell. After a few days I set out the second jar in another area of the house. Its been 4 weeks now, and they are still great. The scent is very clean and wafts through the rooms as you move around. Had house guests last week, two men, both commented on the clean scent. “What is that smell? I need to know so my wife can get some.” The small “pucks” that you ordered are intended for small spaces, cars, closets, laundry room, etc. And you never said what scent that you ordered, could make a real difference as well. Just wanted to say that my experience is vastly different from yours. I love the product I purchased and plan on giving a couple as gifts this Christmas. I did recently purchase the ” auto” puck type. I haven’t had long enough to truly evaluate how its working.
