I’m a mom of three, and let me tell you, motherhood shows up on your face whether you like it or not. Between sleepless nights, stress, and the everyday chaos of running a home, I started noticing fine lines creeping in around the corners of my eyes.

I’m not the kind of person who jumps straight to expensive treatments or Botox. I’d rather start with something I can do at home, on my own time, while folding laundry or watching TV after the kids go to bed. That’s what made me curious about LED therapy.

I’d heard a lot of hype about red light and how it helps with collagen production and aging. When I saw the GLO24K 7 Color LED Beauty Mask on Amazon for $69, I thought, “Why not?”

Spoiler alert: It didn’t live up to the hype

About the GLO24K LED Mask

The mask itself is a futuristic-looking beauty gadget that covers your entire face. It comes with a strap, a controller, and the option to switch between seven different LED colors—red, blue, green, yellow, purple, light blue, and clear light. Each color supposedly serves a different purpose: red for anti-aging, blue for acne, green for calming, and so on.

The idea is simple; you put the mask on, set the timer, pick your color, and let it work its magic. It sounded straightforward enough and the variety of colors felt promising. I liked the concept that I could tailor it to whatever my skin needed at the moment.

My experience using this anti-aging Mask

When the mask first arrived, I was honestly excited. It felt like bringing a little spa into my home. I remember unboxing it after the kids were in bed and thinking, “This is my me-time.”

The first thing I noticed was how lightweight it was compared to how it looks online. Still, once you strap it on, it’s not exactly the most comfortable thing in the world. The nose bridge presses a little, and after about ten minutes, I was ready to take it off. But I pushed through because I was determined to see results.

I started with the red light, since my main concern was the fine lines near my eyes. I committed to using it about four nights a week, usually while lying in bed scrolling my phone. Each session lasted around 15 minutes. Sometimes I’d switch to the green light if my skin felt irritated, but mostly I stuck to red.

By the two-week mark, I was checking the mirror every morning, expecting to see some sort of difference. Maybe my wrinkles would soften, or my skin would look a little plumper. But honestly, nothing changed. My skin looked the same.

I told myself to be patient. Not everything works overnight. I kept going. Four weeks in, still no noticeable improvement. Eight weeks later, after two months of consistent use, the wrinkles at the side of my eyes hadn’t budged. If anything, they looked exactly the same.

Now, don’t get me wrong, the mask wasn’t all bad. I enjoyed the ritual of it. Sitting quietly with the glow on my face was oddly relaxing. My skin sometimes felt smoother after using it, and there’s a certain fun factor in playing with the different colors. But when it came to what I actually bought it for—reducing wrinkles—I can’t say it delivered.

Better Alternative

I decided to ditch the mask and try something new; the GLO24K Skin Rejuvenation Device. Also another product by the same brand. Why? you might ask. Well, a close friend of mine, also a mom, swears by it. She’s been using it for months, and I can actually see the difference on her face. She looks brighter, her skin has that healthy glow, and the fine lines around her mouth seem softer.

What makes me more hopeful about the device is that it’s handheld. Instead of just blasting your whole face with general light, you can target specific areas. That’s what I need; something that lets me focus directly on the little crow’s feet by my eyes instead of treating my whole face at once. It also combines red, green, and blue lights with warmth and vibration, which sounds like it would give me a more concentrated treatment.

I’ll admit, I’m not thrilled about the money I already spent on the mask, but I’m willing to invest in something that might actually give me visible results. If the handheld device can soften even a little of what I see in the mirror every day, it will be worth it.

Pros and Cons of the GLO24K 7 Color LED Mask

Pros

  • Affordable compared to other LED masks
  • Offers seven different colors for different skin concerns
  • Rechargeable and fairly lightweight

Cons

  • Did not reduce or improve my wrinkles even after two months of consistent use
  • A bit uncomfortable on the nose bridge
  • Results are very subtle at best
  • Time-consuming for something that doesn’t show real changes
  • Feels more like a novelty than an effective anti-aging tool

Final Thoughts

After two months with the GLO24K 7 Color LED Beauty Mask, I can honestly say it wasn’t the solution I hoped it would be. While I enjoyed the concept and the little moments of calm it gave me, my fine lines and wrinkles didn’t change one bit.

As moms, we don’t always have time for spa appointments or expensive treatments, so I understand the appeal of a mask like this. But for me, it just didn’t work. I’m ready to move on to something more targeted—the GLO24K Skin Rejuvenation Device—because I’ve seen firsthand how it worked for someone I trust.

If you’re curious and want to try it for fun, the mask might be a nice addition to your self-care routine. But if you’re hoping for noticeable anti-aging results, especially with wrinkles, I wouldn’t count on it.

At the end of the day, I’m learning that not every product is going to be a win. And that’s okay. Sometimes we try things, we learn from them, and we move on to the next. For now, I’m putting the mask back in its box and setting my sights on something that I hope will give me that little boost of confidence I’m looking for.
