I initially bought Hormone Harmony for my mom. She had been complaining of constant hot flashes, mood dips, and just feeling “off” that kind of emotional and physical fatigue menopause brings. She’d tried several things before, from soy isoflavones to black cohosh tea, with little relief.

But curiosity got the better of me, and I decided to also try it myself. I thought maybe it would also help with my own hormonal swings, fatigue, and those stressful days that come with juggling kids, work, and everyday life. NOTE – I am on antidepressants (fluoxetine 10mg and Wellbutrin 150mg) for depression and anxiety.

The idea of something that could help balance hormones naturally was so tempting.

Spoiler alert: my experience with Hormone Harmony was far from the smooth ride I hoped for.

The capsules are packed with ingredients like ashwagandha, DIM (diindolylmethane), turmeric, maca root, schisandra, and probiotics. On paper, it sounds impressive. These are all known adaptogens and herbal extracts that claim to balance estrogen and cortisol levels naturally. The supplement is also non-GMO, dairy-free, and gluten-free, which made it even more appealing.

My experience taking Happy Mammoth Hormone Harmony

When I tried Hormone Harmony, I was still taking my antidepressants. I didn’t think it would be an issue. After all, it’s “natural,” right? But within a few days, I noticed something was off.

It started subtly; a bit of restlessness, a racing heart here and there. Then by day four, I was feeling completely out of sorts. My anxiety came back full force. I couldn’t focus to save my life, and it felt like my antidepressants had suddenly stopped working. My mood was swinging wildly between sadness and panic. I even had a few full-blown panic attacks.

Aside that, here’s what I noticed while taking this supplement. There’s a bit of a flavor that’s kind of a natural taste, but it goes away quickly. Also, there are no real instructions with these pills. Just take three a day. With 16oz of water? Before or after a meal? At bedtime? In conjunction with working out? I don’t know. I took them at bedtime.

When I reached out to the company, they said they weren’t sure if their product had any interaction issues with SSRI medications. That was disappointing because, in hindsight, I wish I had asked that question before ever taking it.

Does It really work for menopause?

As for my mom, she didn’t experience the symptoms I had. However, she noticed some improvement in her general wellbeing. Firstly, her hot flashes seemed to calm a bit after two weeks, though she still felt occasional mood fluctuations.

However, she did not lost any weight with taking these, they haven’t solved every little ache or pain that comes with aging and general use of the body, she still have the same stubborn chin hairs coming in that I pluck.

Is Hormone Harmony Safe?

Hormone Harmony is made with natural ingredients, but that doesn’t automatically make it safe for everyone. The blend contains powerful herbs and adaptogens that can influence hormone and neurotransmitter activity. While the company markets it as suitable for women of all ages, it’s not FDA-approved or clinically tested for drug interactions.

For menopausal women or those with mild hormonal imbalances, it might help. But for those on medications or with sensitive systems, it’s best to proceed with caution.
