Do you want to buy Hose Hawk Pro? Please don’t do so. I – a stay at home mom of three – bought and tested this pressure washer after coming across the brand’s ads on social media. The videos show it blasting dirt from cars, cleaning outdoor surfaces and producing a stream that looks almost like a pressure washer.
As someone who is always looking for easier ways to clean around the house, I was tempted.
I placed an order on hosehawk.net and paid about $60, including what was advertised as expedited shipping.
Unfortunately, this turned out to be one of those purchases where the advertising looked much better than the actual product.
What Is Hose Hawk Pro?
Hose Hawk Pro is advertised as a high pressure water jet that supposedly turns an ordinary garden hose into a powerful cleaning machine.
The advertisements are what convinced me to try it. It looked powerful enough to clean cars, remove stubborn dirt and handle some of those outdoor cleaning jobs that normally require a pressure washer.
The whole idea sounded great.
The problem is that what arrived at my house did not perform anything like what I saw in those advertisements.
My experience using this pressure washer
My first disappointment came when the package arrived.
I paid extra for expedited shipping, yet it still took around three weeks to arrive. The product was shipped from China, which was not what I expected when I placed the order.
When I finally opened the package, the quality immediately felt cheap. This is mostly lightweight plastic, and it did not give me the impression of a powerful piece of equipment.
But the biggest problem was that it did not come with an adapter that would fit my standard U.S. garden hose.
That was a pretty serious problem because I bought this specifically to use with a garden hose. I shouldn’t have to spend additional money trying to find an adapter just to make the product usable.
I eventually managed to test it, and honestly, I was very disappointed with the performance.
The water pressure was nowhere near what I saw in the advertisements. In my experience, it produced about the same kind of pressure I would expect from a decent $20 hose nozzle.
I even tested it on my family’s car tires, where there was mud that needed cleaning. I held the nozzle quite close to the tires, expecting the concentrated stream to lift the mud as shown in the advertisements.
It didn’t.
The water simply wasn’t powerful enough to do what I expected it to do.
And that was the point where I knew this wasn’t going to be a product I could recommend.
Does Hose Hawk Pro Actually Increase Water Pressure?
Based on my experience, not in any meaningful way. This is the biggest issue I have with the product.
The advertisements give the impression that you’re getting something comparable to a pressure washer. In reality, I found it much closer to an ordinary garden hose sprayer.
Other customers have reported very similar experiences. Recent reviews on Trustpilot include complaints that the product is no more powerful than a regular hose nozzle, while others say it did not connect to their standard garden hose without purchasing an additional adapter.
So if you’re buying this because you expect pressure washer performance, I would seriously lower your expectations.
Alternatives
I ended up buying a high-pressure hose nozzle on Amazon.com and it’s been fantastic. If you’re tired of leaky hose nozzles, this one is what you are looking for. The nozzle fits perfectly on the hose and is a good quality product; sturdy and solid.

Extra washers to insure a nice tight fit. Reasonably priced for the quality. Multiple spray options providing the perfect dispersion of water for spraying flowers and cleaning.
Money Back Guarantee
Hose Hawk Pro website advertises a money back guarantee, which gave me some comfort when I placed the order. I thought that if the product didn’t perform as advertised, I could simply return it and get my money back.
When I contacted them about returning mine, I was told I could send it back to China. The problem?
The return shipping would cost me nearly $25.
So I would have to spend even more money to return a cheaply made product that I had already paid around $60 for.
I explained that the product was not useful to me because it didn’t come with the proper adapter for my hose and did not perform as advertised. Instead of giving me a full refund, they told me I could keep the product and offered me only $29.97 back.
At the time of writing this review, I’m still waiting to see whether that refund actually makes it back onto my credit card.
For me, that makes the so called money back guarantee much less useful than it sounds in the advertisement.
There are also other recent customer complaints describing similar difficulties with returns to China and partial refunds.
Is Hose Hawk Pro A Scam?
I would be careful about calling a company a scam based solely on one bad product experience. However, I absolutely consider my purchase a ripoff and I would not recommend Hose Hawk Pro based on what I received.
The product did not perform anything like the advertisements led me to expect. It was cheaply made, mine didn’t come with the necessary hose adapter, it took around three weeks to arrive despite paying for expedited shipping, and getting my money back turned into another problem.
The fact that I was offered less than half of what I paid rather than receiving a straightforward refund was the final straw for me.
And I’m not the only customer reporting problems. There are recent reviews describing the product as little more than a cheap hose nozzle, along with complaints about missing connectors and expensive return shipping.
Pros
- It is lightweight and easy enough to hold.
- The water stream can be useful for very basic spraying.
Cons
- Cheap plastic construction
- Much weaker than the advertisements suggest
- Not comparable to a real pressure washer
- Took about three weeks to arrive despite expedited shipping
- Fake Money back guarantee
My Verdict
I would not buy Hose Hawk Pro again.
I bought it because the advertisements made it look like an affordable alternative to a pressure washer. After actually using it, I found it to be little more than a cheaply made hose nozzle that did not deliver the cleaning power I expected.
The fact that mine didn’t even come with the right adapter to connect to my hose made the experience worse.
For around $60, I expected much more.
If you are considering buying Hose Hawk Pro because you’ve seen those impressive videos online, my advice is simple: don’t judge this product by the advertisements. My hands on experience was completely different.
For me, Hose Hawk Pro was a serious ripoff, and I would rather put that $60 toward a proper pressure washer or a good quality hose nozzle from a retailer where returns are straightforward.
