Kalm bracelet promises to calm menopause related irks. It said to use Acupressure & Magnetotherapy to naturally improve hormonal balance. But the big question here is; does it really work?

Over the past six weeks, my blog readers – fellow pre-menopause moms – sent emails pleading that I look into the bracelet. So I said ‘Why not?’ and after a bit of budgeting I was able to save $69 for the Buy 1 Get 1 Free Labor Day deal from trykalm.co.

Unfortunately, by the end of those three weeks, my hot flashes were still very much around.

Here’s a honest review of Kalm Bracelet from a stay at home mom who bought and wore the bracelet for three weeks.

About Kalm Bracelet

Kalm Bracelet is marketed as a natural menopause aid that combines acupressure and magnetotherapy.

According to the advertising on trykalm.co, wearing the bracelet can supposedly help with hot flashes, night sweats, stress, joint pain, bloating and hormonal weight gain. The idea is that the pressure points and magnets in the bracelet can somehow help your body achieve better hormonal balance.

It certainly sounds appealing. I know how tempting anything promising relief from annoying menopause symptoms can be. But a good looking claim is still just a claim until there is evidence behind it.

My experience wearing this bracelet

First, delivery took almost four weeks, from China. That wasn’t necessarily a deal breaker for me because, as I’ve said many times in my reviews, where a product is manufactured doesn’t automatically determine whether it is good or bad.

The bracelet itself felt like an ordinary bangle on my wrist. It is not adjustable, just a cuff that can be challenging to put on. Does not fit a smaller wrist good. Gets easily bent out of shape and it’s hard to get the magnets to touch against the skin. I had to wear upside down or wear it higher up on my arm to make it work. Also the magnets do nothing.

I’ve been wearing the it day and night, other than showers and a weekly charge, and it hasn’t scratched or shown any signs of wear yet.

Meanwhile, I took a magnet and some metal and tried placing them against the areas where the bracelet supposedly contained magnets. Nothing stuck. So basically the Kalm bracelet doesn’t really contain therapeutic magnets.

I did not experience any noticeable improvement in my hot flashes, and I didn’t notice the other benefits promised in the advertising either.

When I ordered, the bracelet was advertised with a 30 day money back guarantee.

I wore mine for 21 days before contacting Vanessa, who is presented as the founder. I was then told that I only had a 14 day return window and that I wasn’t eligible for a refund.

I went back and read the actual return policy carefully, and yes, the 14 day condition is there.

However, that is quite different from the 30 day money back guarantee I understood I was getting when I placed my order. There are also conditions concerning promotional purchases.

Does Kalm Bracelet Work for menopause?

Honestly? No. I and lots of women who bought this bracelet still deal with menopause symptoms as the bracelet didn’t work. Meanwhile, though studies have reported improvements in menopause symptom scores and quality of life following structured acupressure treatment, structured acupressure is not the same thing as wearing a bracelet.

Acupressure studies generally involve deliberately applying pressure to particular points for specific amounts of time. That doesn’t automatically mean that a bracelet sitting on your wrist will produce the same effect.

Then there is magnetotherapy.

The evidence for static magnets, such as those used in magnetic bracelets, is much less convincing. Research has not established that simply wearing static magnetic jewelry can balance hormones or reliably treat menopause symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats.

I also couldn’t find convincing clinical evidence showing that a magnetic bracelet can stop hormonal weight gain or provide the broad range of menopause benefits Kalm advertises.

So while there is ongoing research into complementary approaches such as acupressure, that should not be confused with evidence that a magnetic bracelet can treat menopause.

What other users are saying

DO NOT BUY! The product advertises that it’s adjustable but the bracelet is an inflexible, uncomfortable hard piece of metal. There is no way to wear it as it’s supposed to be worn. The special stand they suggest for it is a round piece of wood (makes a great coaster though). BEWARE of positive reviews…I received an offer for a $30 refund if I left a 5-star review. If they truly believed in their product they would compensate for ANY honest review. Borders on fraud.” Debbie says.

Funny I get a email saying my order been refunded but only if I leave a 5 star review. But I left a 1 star like a week ago because I tried getting a full refund of $65 not “$30” because product is did not like and was allergic to the material. I never got a refund or an email back. Also they false advertisement of 30 day money back guarantee but on the refund policy says has to be unworn well how are you gonna guarantee a product if it hasn’t been worn? Company is joke!” from Amber Sanford

The general consensus is that the Kalm bracelet doesn’t work and the company makes people leave positive reviews for a $30 refund, hence the positive star ratings on TrustPilot page.

Pros

  • Easy to wear
  • No pills or supplements
  • Looks like a regular bracelet

Cons

  • No improvement in my hot flashes after 21 days
  • Nearly four week delivery
  • Questions about the magnetic and copper claims
  • Forbes and Women’s Health mentions could not be verified
  • Little scientific evidence supporting magnetic bracelets for menopause

Do I Recommend?

After buying and wearing this bracelet, I honestly do not recommend Kalm bracelet. It is just another fad product that doesn’t work. Whatever positive effects observed is likely a placebo.

Better Alternative

Here’s what I currently use ‘Natures Craft PMS Support on Amazon‘ and honestly it works for me. I have been taking this for one month now, and my hot flashes are gone.

I was getting numerous hot flashes during the day and night, and needed help. I feel so much better & can even wear sweaters again & sleep–I no longer feel like I’m burning up!
