Do you want to buy Pawlife Dental + for your dog’s oral health? This review is for you! As a stay at home mom of 3 with a pet, I’ve always dealt with the struggle of keeping my dog’s teeth clean. Brushing is a battle, dental chews are hit or miss, and the vet always warns us about tartar build-up and gum disease.
So when I saw PawLife Dental+ being advertised online with glowing reviews , I thought I had found the answer.
I went ahead and ordered a bottle directly from paw-life.shop for $31. I was hopeful, maybe even a little too trusting.
Spoiler alert: It was a disappointing experience.

PawLife Dental+ is marketed as a dog dental water additive. The idea is simple: instead of brushing your dog’s teeth every day, you just add a teaspoon of this liquid into their water bowl. According to the brand, it’s supposed to fight plaque, reduce tartar, freshen breath, and even support long-term oral and heart health by targeting harmful bacteria.
The formula they list includes persimmon tannins, plant enzymes, tea extract, propolis, rice bran, and some prebiotics. Sounds natural, right? The marketing makes it look like a vet-approved, premium solution that works wonders without stress for your dog.
My experience testing PawLife Dental Plus on my Golden Retriever
When my package arrived, the first red flag was the packaging itself. The bottle had Chinese inscriptions all over it. This surprised me because the website didn’t mention anywhere that the product was made in China or would be shipped from there. I had assumed I was buying from a reputable pet wellness brand, not from an overseas dropshipping operation.
Still, I gave it the benefit of the doubt. I started using it exactly as instructed: one teaspoon for every 600 ml of water, refilled daily. For three weeks, I was consistent. Every morning, I’d measure it out and mix it into my dog’s water bowl.
Here’s the truth: nothing changed.

- The tartar on her teeth didn’t budge
- Her gums looked no different from before
- She didn’t seem to mind drinking the water, but I saw zero improvement in her oral hygiene

I felt cheated. Not because of the money (though $31 for a $2 product stings), but because I had put my trust in a brand that doesn’t actually care about pets. Also the subscription model is clearly a trap. Imagine being $31 charged monthly for a $2 product.
Is PawLife Dental Plus a Scam?
In my opinion, yes.
The whole operation has all the hallmarks of a classic dropshipping scam.
- Overhyped claims: They promise visible results in as little as a week. That simply didn’t happen.
- Fake reviews and images: After digging, I found that many of their “customer” pictures are stock photos or reused from unrelated sources.
- Hidden origins: Nowhere on their website do they tell you it’s made in China or shipping directly from there.
- Unfair pricing: They charge thirty dollars for something that costs under two dollars on wholesale sites.
- They offer a subscription model that is very difficult to unsubscribe from. I had to get a new credit card in order to avoid future subscription charges.
As a mom and pet owner, that feels selfish and dishonest. They’re preying on people who just want to take better care of their pets.

Better Alternatives for Dog Dental Care
After giving up on PawLife Dental+, I went back to researching tried-and-true options. Thankfully, there are plenty of products on Amazon that pet owners actually swear by;
NOVEHA Dog Dental Powder – This makes fresh breath and clean teeth easy, no toothbrush needed. Just sprinkle on food daily and done.
I was hoping this was going to work well with our Golden, but she doesn’t seem to like the taste. She is a picky pup, so it’s not unusual for her to turn her head. We’ve still tried to use it with her, and we have noticed that her breath is smelling a bit better. The consistency is fine, it’s just not something she likes.
So because of her dislike, I switched to another recommended product on Amazon.com;
Bodhi Dog Peppermint Dental Water Additive for Dogs & Puppies
I was very skeptical, actually I thought it was total BS but I figure I will try it and if it works even a little then it’s cheaper than the Vet. My dog constantly had “I just licked my butt, the sewer and ate rotten pumpkin breath”, from 6ft away I could smell her breath, NASTY. Somehow, I don’t know how but this stuff is working. It’s been about 1.5 weeks, we give the recommended dosage although she doesn’t drink it all and we can smell a HUGE difference.
Note – I recommend starting small. Some pet owners complained it gave their dogs diarrhoea though my dog didn’t have any side effect.
Final Thoughts
I wanted Pawlife Dental plus to work. I really did. The promise of an easy solution to doggy dental problems was tempting. But after three weeks of faithfully using it, I saw no improvement in my dog’s oral health. Discovering that it’s a cheap product from China being resold at a 15x markup was the final straw.
As pet parents, we deserve honesty and transparency from the brands we trust. Pawlife Dental+ doesn’t deliver that. Instead, it feels like a quick cash grab at the expense of people who love their pets.
