You have probably seen the Ploise Denture Dome ads all over Facebook. It promises to clean dentures and retainers in minutes using ultrasonic technology and UV light. No brushing. No harsh chemicals.

I will be honest. The ads tempted me. But before clicking Order Now on ploise.com, I paused and checked on Amazon.com.

I found lots of ultrasonic denture cleaners on Amazon with great customer reviews. But this particular one caught my fancy. It looks almost identical to the Ploise Denture Cleaner as costs just $33, with more than 1,000 positive reviews. (Here’s the link in case you’re the kind of mom who loves a steal like me)

Meanwhile I also added a Denture Dome Sterilizing Tablets to my order.

About the Ploise Denture Cleaner: What Is It, Anyway?

The Ploise Denture Cleaner, sometimes called the Ploise Denture Dome, is an ultrasonic cleaning device designed for removable dental appliances. This includes full dentures, partial dentures, retainers, night guards, aligners, and mouth guards.

It works by filling a small pod with water and using ultrasonic vibrations to loosen food particles, plaque, and buildup that brushing alone may not fully remove. Some versions also include UV light, which is marketed as helping reduce bacteria and odor.

This sounds modern and advanced, and in fairness, ultrasonic cleaning is a real and proven technology. Dentists and jewelers have used ultrasonic cleaners for many years.

The key thing to understand is that the technology itself is not new.

My One Month Experience Using this Denture Dome Cleaner

I have been using my ultrasonic denture cleaner every day for about a month now. This is not a casual trial. It has become part of my routine.

The process is simple. I fill the pod with water, place a retainer tablet inside, allow it dissolve in less then two minutes. After which, I place the dentures inside, close the lid, and press the button. The device runs quietly and finishes its cycle quickly.

At first use, I noticed huge improvements. The difference is actually kind of shocking. They come out feeling genuinely clean, like they did when I first got them from the orthodontist. No more weird film, and they are crystal clear. Plus, knowing it’s getting into all those tiny grooves that a toothbrush just misses gives me peace of mind.

It’s also super easy to use, and the size is great; big enough for my upper and lower trays without being bulky on the counter. If you wear any kind of oral appliance, stop debating and just buy it.

Ploise Denture Dome Versus Traditional Denture Cleaning Methods

Before using an ultrasonic cleaner, most people rely on brushing, soaking tablets, or a combination of both.

Brushing is essential, but it does not always reach every crevice. It can also be abrasive over time if done too aggressively.

Soaking tablets are convenient, but they can have strong smells, leave residue, and require long soaking times. Some people also experience irritation or sensitivity from repeated use.

Ultrasonic cleaners offer a different approach. They provide hands free cleaning, shorter cycles, and no chemical smell. They work best when used alongside brushing, not as a replacement.

In my experience, combining gentle brushing with ultrasonic cleaning produces the best results.

Pros

  • Seriously Deep Clean: Eliminates film and cloudiness.
  • Simple: One-button operation.
  • Convenient Size: Fits appliances easily without hogging counter space.
  • Quiet: Just a low hum, not annoying.

Cons

The cord is a little short, so you need to be near an outlet. (Minor inconvenience.)

Final Thoughts From a Mom Who Wants You to Save Coins

I did not write this review to tell anyone what not to buy. I wrote it to encourage informed decisions.

If you want an ultrasonic denture cleaner, it can be a helpful addition to your routine. But you do not need to overpay because of polished ads and emotional marketing.

As parents, we already manage enough expenses. Saving money where we can, without sacrificing quality, matters.

Sometimes the smartest purchase is not the loudest one. It is the quieter option that does the same job for less.
