Does the Qinux Talkbuds translation feature really work? We have a couple of family trips planned later this year, and the thought of having a little translator tucked in my ear seemed genius.

So when I saw the Qinux Talkbuds claiming to translate over 140 languages in real time — I figured, why not? I imagined using them on family trips, chatting effortlessly with locals.

Spoiler alert: that did not happen. Here’s my honest review.

What Are Qinux Talkbuds Supposed to Do?

For those who haven’t been caught up in the hype, the Qinux Talkbuds are marketed as real-time language translation earbuds. Here’s what the product promises:

  • Instant translation in 140+ languages
  • Offline translation support
  • High-definition sound quality
  • Seamless pairing with the EarJoy App
  • Double as regular Bluetooth earbuds

Honestly, it sounded too good to be true — and well, it kinda was.

My experience using Qinux Talkbuds

When my Qinux Talkbuds finally arrived (after about three weeks, by the way), I was pumped. However, it didn’t come with any manual or instruction. But I saw somewhere that it’s supposed to work with a translation app called EarJoy. I downloaded the EarJoy app, turned on Bluetooth, opened the case, and waited for that satisfying connected chime.

I tried it several times on my Android phone but it just wouldn’t work. Even when I gave the app bluetooth permissions to find my earbuds it couldn’t connect.

Here’s what I tried:

  • Restarting my phone
  • Uninstalling and reinstalling the EarJoy app
  • Turning Bluetooth off and back on
  • Forgetting every other device connected to my phone

Nothing worked.

After about an hour of troubleshooting, I gave up and tried it on my iPhone. The app connected immediately but only translated few Spanish words and stopped translating. Subsequent attempts failed.

The translator simply went mute even with a strong internet connection. So I ended up using it as regular Bluetooth earbuds — which worked for playing music, but let’s be real, that’s not what I bought them for.

Do Qinux Talkbuds really translate languages in real time?

In my personal experience? Nope. It only works for few words. The Qinux translation earbuds doesn’t actually translate effectively as claimed. While affordable, the earbuds is an average accessories sold with exaggerated translation capabilities.

This is just another pair of Bluetooth earbuds you could get on Amazon for $15.

And yes — I checked online, and it turns out I’m not alone. Plenty of other folks had the exact same problem, with no fix in sight.

Those have way better reputations and actual working apps.

Final Thoughts

The Qinux Talkbuds sounded like a dream product but turned out to be yet another overhyped gadget that didn’t deliver.

If you see these floating around your feed — or any ad promising miracle translation in your ear — remember my story before you hit that “Buy Now” button.

Learn from my mistake. You’re welcome.

Have you tried these or something similar?

Drop your experience in the comments — I’d love to know if anyone actually got them to work!
