There’s a lot of risks associated with The website which is currently running discount sale for sneakers, is not a legit online store. Aside from the possibility of not receiving your order or receiving an inferior item/fake product, your credit card info is also not safe on the site.

While investigating the website, we found some red flags which indicate the site is fraudulent.

Trustworthiness – 0% lists it contact telephone number as (415) 938-9366. This same telephone number is being used by a handful of similar sneaker stores ‘’,, and Interestingly these websites share same website design, customer reviews, designs, etc. Which shows it’s likely owned by one person.

When we checked online for reviews, we saw that ‘’ has a negative review online. A website ‘SabiReviews’ calls it a scam online store and warns the public to stay away from it. This doesn’t look good at all.

Authenticity – 1%

The first thing you notice when you scroll down the website, is the handful of reviews from alleged customers. However, when you look closely, you’d notice they’re all 5 star reviews. It’s actually not possible that there’s no single 3 star or 2 star reviews. Even well known ecommerce platforms like Amazon, Ebay, Temu and the likes, all have negative reviews or average reviews from buyers.

Why then is it different with this store?

Curious, I decided to confirm the authenticity of the images used by doing a reverse image search, and it turned out that most of the images were gotten from Pinterest and Instagram.

I wasn’t surprised that the names do not even match. The reviews weren’t left by the people in the images, but by whoever is behind Why should you trust such a site?

Identity – 0%

Snkron is not physically located on ‘3515 Mt. Diablo Blvd, Lafayette, California 94549, United States’. On Google, three businesses are listed on the address. Upon enquiry, we were informed there’s no sneaker store in the premises.

Of course, it isn’t shocking or surprising. One of the modus operandi of fraudulent online businesses is to use an address that isn’t theirs. Often times, popular places are used, in order to create a sense of authenticity.

Reliability – 1%

80% discount on Yeezys, Air Max, Air Jordan, etc is actually too good to be true. No business person would sell their product below cost price, not even the manufacturers. When shopping, always remember the saying ‘If it is too good to be true, it certainly isn’t true’

This also applies to the discount on, they’re not true or real even. There’s a likelihood that you would receive cheap replicas, fakes, or in worse scenario – nothing at all.

Security -2%

Though is secured with SSL (customer’s credit card info are encrypted) however, this data is not protected from insider attack.

There’s a possibility of recurring charges when you shop from the website. This could be via –

  • Hidden membership subscription – Some shady online stores deceptively add customers into a membership program during checkout.
  • credit card fraud – The owner of the site could scrape off customers credit card details and use it for unauthorized transactions elsewhere.
  • Double order placed – Customers could get charged twice or thrice for a piece of item. If they’re lucky they could get a refund. Unlucky ones don’t get a refund or the item.

Verdict has a poor trust score, and as such is marked unsafe and risky for online purchase/shopping. Customers who shop from this website would either receive an inferior/wrong product or nothing at all. There’s also a possibility of recurring charges from the site which could be as a result of hidden membership subscription, credit card fraud or duplicate orders.

If you’ve already shopped from Snkron before reading this, here’s what you should do;

First thing first, contact the merchant and request to cancel your order. If this request isn’t granted, you should proceed with the next step;

Inform your financial provider of the fraudulent transaction and request for a chargeback. If it’s possible, they’d be able to revert the charge and recover the amount. If it isn’t possible, you should count your loss and move on.

Monitor your bank statement. I always advise everyone to do this, whether you’ve shopped from an untrustworthy merchant or not. By monitoring your bank statement, you’d be quick to detect unknown charges and request for a credit freeze.

However, if you can’t bear the thought of being dubiously charged by in the future, you should immediately cancel your credit card and request for a new one.

NB – You can use the above method I used in investigating to find out if a website is scam or legit.
