I found a handful of negative reviews on TrustPilot which put me off from ordering from theofficial website; riseluxus.com. Instead, I ordered mine through the brand’s Amazon storefront.
The product arrived, and I decided to give it a proper test. Spoiler alert: It didn’t live up to the hype.

Rise Luxus Color Changing Foundation is marketed as a 4-in-1 makeup product that combines foundation, skincare benefits, hydration and SPF protection in one formula.
The biggest selling point is its colour matching technology. Instead of choosing from multiple foundation shades, the product starts as a light cream and supposedly adjusts to your natural skin tone once blended.
The brand also claims that it provides a flawless finish while remaining lightweight, waterproof and long lasting. According to the advertisements, the formula is designed to stay intact throughout the day, even in sweat and humidity.
The product is also promoted as suitable for mature skin because it claims to smooth the appearance of fine lines, minimise pores and prevent the dry, cakey look that some foundations create.
My experience using Rise Luxus Foundation
When my Rise Luxus foundation arrived, I was honestly excited to test it. After all, the colour changing technology was the main reason I bought it. I started with four pumps of product and applied it to my face.
My first impression? This foundation is thick. Much thicker than I expected.
The texture immediately reminded me more of a sunscreen than a traditional foundation. It had that same heavy, creamy feeling that sits on top of the skin rather than melting into it.
The good thing was the scent. It had a light, pleasant fragrance that wasn’t overwhelming or unpleasant.
Then came the part I was most curious about. The colour change.
And surprisingly, this part actually worked.
As I blended the product into my skin, I could see it adjusting. The shade matched my complexion much better than I expected. After trying previous colour changing foundations that left me looking orange, grey or completely washed out, I was pleasantly surprised.
However, while the colour match was impressive, the coverage was not. Rise Luxus gave me a very light, sheer coverage.
It evened out my overall complexion slightly, but it did not do what many people expect a foundation to do. My pores, blemishes, and broken cappilaries were still visible.
Considering the advertisements made it look like this foundation could completely transform the skin, I was disappointed.
However, I wanted to give it the best possible chance.
I continued with my normal makeup routine. I applied a little blush, eyeshadow, loose setting powder and finished everything with a strong setting spray.
At first, everything looked okay. The finish was natural, although still slightly sticky.
Then I started my normal day. Two hours later, I noticed the area underneath my glasses had already disappeared. The foundation around my nose piece had rubbed away completely.
Four hours later, I checked my makeup again. This was where things started going downhill. The foundation had settled into my deeper wrinkles, making them much more noticeable.
Instead of smoothing my skin like the advertisements suggested, it seemed to highlight the areas I usually try to soften. By the seven hour mark, most of the foundation had disappeared.
It honestly looked like it had melted away. The only thing remaining was the sticky feeling on my skin. And that was one thing I noticed throughout the entire day.
The stickiness never went away. My face never felt properly set. For a product advertised as a long-lasting, waterproof formula designed to survive sweat and humidity, this was already a disappointing start.
Rise Luxus videos make some very bold promises. According to the advertisements, people will supposedly ask whether you’ve had cosmetic work done, compliment how youthful you look or wonder what skincare miracle you’ve discovered.
That never happened. Instead, the comments I actually received were things like:
“Why did you stop wearing foundation?”
“You look tired.”
“Why is your face sweating so much?”
“Are you feeling okay?”
Those aren’t exactly the compliments the advertisements promise.
Reviews
One thing I always do after testing a product is check independent reviews.
On Trustpilot, I noticed something interesting. Many of the five star reviews focus heavily on customer service rather than the product itself. That is usually a red flag.
When you dig deeper into real user experiences, a pattern appears. Long shipping times, ignored cancellations, disappointing product performance and poor refund policy.
The Facebook ads are polished and convincing, but they do not reflect reality.
This is not a unique beauty product. It is a generic item being marketed very aggressively.
What I Liked about this color changing foundation
- The colour matching technology genuinely worked surprisingly well without primer.
- Pleasant light fragrance.
- Easy to spread over the skin.
- Didn’t irritate my skin or cause breakouts
What I Didn’t Like
- Extremely sticky texture that never fully dries.
- Very light coverage that doesn’t hide blemishes, dark circles or broken capillaries.
- Settles into wrinkles after only a few hours.
- Rubs off easily under glasses.
- Became very greasy throughout the day.
- Doesn’t last anywhere near as long as advertised.
Better Alternatives
If you are looking for something that actually works, there are far better options out there that do what they promise.
I found the Prime Prometics Color Changing Foundation on Amazon.com, and it has great customer reviews. If you’ve mature skin you should give this one a go. Of all the foundations I’ve tried this one checks the most boxes for me. It’s not too creamy and definitely not dry. It glides on perfectly and the brush is actually the perfect tool to get a flawless finish. Blends seamlessly. It’s not matte nor dewy. NOTE – make sure you get your right color shade.
The natural color is so good and does not oxidize. The coverage is excellent, looking both natural and smooth. It does not fall into creases/wrinkles nor look patchy.
It lasts all day through. I’am hooked.
Is Rise Luxus a Scam?
Just like the Smooche foundation, the Rise Luxus Color Changing foundation was a huge let down. While the ads create unrealistic expectations by suggesting it provides flawless coverage, survives sweat and humidity, stays perfect all day and makes users appear dramatically younger. Based on my own experience, those claims simply didn’t match reality.
When a product claims advanced color adapting technology, premium formulation, and unique origins, but turns out to be a generic cream sold under different names, that is a serious issue.
Add in the poor customer service and delayed shipping, and it becomes very hard to recommend.
