Is the Dermave Trimmer 2.0 worth buying? Social media kept shoving this product in my face, and the influencers made it look so easy and effortless. I thought, if this can save me from nicking myself with a razor, then it’s best i buy it.
So I ordered it, high hopes and all. I had fell in love with their electric foot callus remover but this time around, well I wasn’t PLEASED.

About Dermave Trimmer 2.0
The Dermave Trimmer 2.0 is an electric shaver designed specifically for the bikini area. It claims to offer a painless, smooth shave with zero irritation. The device features a sleek, cordless design with a rechargeable battery and a little circular shaver at the bottom that’s supposedly meant to give you a close, stubble-free finish.
The brand markets it as an easy, mess-free, at-home grooming solution, perfect for delicate areas where razors can cause bumps, cuts, and irritation. Sounds like a dream, right.
My experience using Dermave Bikini Shaver
When it arrived, I was actually excited. The packaging was cute, the trimmer looked sleek, and it charged up quickly. I set aside a rare quiet moment (aka bribed my kids with fruit snacks and an extra episode of Bluey) and headed to the bathroom ready for my mini spa session.
I started with the trimming head on top, and to be fair, it did okay. It handled longer hairs without any tugging or discomfort, so I thought, this might not be so bad after all.
Then came the part I was most excited about — that little circular shaver attachment at the bottom. In the videos, this was the magic wand moment. Smooth skin. No bumps. No stubble. I went over the same patch of skin once… twice… five times. Nothing.

I could literally still feel and see stubble. It barely did anything. I even switched directions, tilted it, pressed lightly, then pressed harder. Still no difference.
By the time I was done trying to make it work, I had wasted so much time I could hear my toddler arguing with the TV remote. And worst of all? I still had to grab my old razor and finish the job the old-fashioned way.
I gave it a second chance the next day, thinking maybe I just wasn’t using it right. Nope. Same disappointing result.
And to rub a little salt in the wound, a quick search on Amazon showed near-identical devices for half the price with better reviews. I was kicking myself for not checking there first before buying the Dermave Trimmer.
Pros
It’s lightweight and easy to hold
Charges quickly
Quiet motor
Top trimmer head works decently for longer hairs
What I HATE about Dermave Trimmer
The circular shaver on the bottom is basically useless
Leaves stubble — no smooth finish
Still have to follow up with a razor afterward
Overpriced for what it offers
A Better Alternative
After my disappointing experience with the Dermave Trimmer 2.0, I did what any savvy mom does — I went to Amazon. And sure enough, there are several similar bikini trimmers with better attachments, great customer reviews, and a way friendlier price tag. Here are some;
2-in-1 Bikini Trimmer for Women – Electric Razor & Pubic Hair Shaver with LED Light & Display
Bikini Trimmer for Women, Painless Electric Razors with 2 in 1 Dual Head
While I haven’t personally tried them yet (because at this point I’m sticking to my trusty waxing routine), I’d 100% recommend checking Amazon first before wasting your money on overpriced, overhyped gadgets like this one.
Final Thoughts
Look, I wanted to love the Dermave Trimmer 2.0. As a busy mom of three, anything that promises to make grooming quick, easy, and painless is something I’m always willing to try. But this one? It’s a hard pass from me.
If you’re looking for a bikini trimmer that actually delivers a smooth, stubble-free finish, skip this one. Either invest in a proper waxing kit or check out Amazon’s better-reviewed options before falling for another Instagram ad.
Lesson learned — again.
