Is the EpiCooler AC worth buying? If you’re thinking of buying this air conditioner, this review is for you. Like you, I also stumbled on Ads about this product which led me to place an order on epicooler.com.
Here’s my brutally honest review from a mom who bought and tried Epicooler Portable AC at home. Spoiler alert: It was a terrible experience!
About Epicooler
EpiCooler which is sold on epicooler.com is marketed as a sort of all in one room cooler. Ads and texts on the website claims the device cools down any room in under 5 minutes. It supposedly delivers powerful cooling without the heavy installation or electricity bill.
The ads make it seem like a smart, portable wall mountable cooling system that can cool a room quickly. They describe it as energy efficient, compact, quiet and capable of delivering both warm and cool air.

My experience using this Wall mount portable AC
My order on epicooler.com took almost three weeks to be delivered. When it finally arrived, it was packaged in a cardboard box from Shenzhen, China (red flag number one). No brand markings on the box, no ‘EpiCooler’ written on it.
The “installation” was essentially me mounting it with two screws onto my bedroom wall. It did turn on, and it did blow air. But was it cold? Absolutely not.
At best, it was like a weak desk fan you get at a dollar store, but with a slightly fancier casing. It had three speed settings, and even on the highest, it was nowhere near what you’d expect from a product calling itself an “air conditioner”.
There was no cooling coil. No refrigerant. No condenser.
Just a fan blade behind a plastic grille, spinning sadly, pushing room-temperature air straight into my disappointed face.
And this is where I got upset. Because when you are a mom dealing with real life heat and sweaty toddlers and a husband who always asks why the house feels warm, the last thing you need is a device pretending to be something it is not.
On top of that, the build quality seems very basic. Light plastic. Loud operation. No temperature control beyond simple fan settings. Some people received units that did not even stay mounted properly. Others received packaging that looked nothing like what was shown online. The whole experience feels misleading right from the moment of unboxing.
Is the EpiCooler AC a Scam?
I strongly believe EpiCooler is extremely misleading. Whether you call it a scam depends on your definition, but here is what I can say confidently. It does not perform as advertised. It is sold with exaggerated claims. It is marketed like a full air conditioning solution when in reality it cannot cool a room.
The real kicker? I later found the exact same unit (same body, same remote, same cheap fan speed settings) on AliExpress and Amazon.com. And guess what? It’s sold for three times lesser price.
Alternatives
After digging on Amazon.com, I found these portable air coolers that actually do impressive room cooling;
Dual Motor Evaporative Air Cooler with 3 Speeds & 3 Mist, 7 Color Night Light Cooling Fan
4-IN-1 Portable AC Unit with 3 Wind Speeds, 3 Spray Mode, 7 Night Light
BLACK+DECKER Desktop Air Cooler
Pros
- Sleek, modern-looking design (if you care about aesthetics)
- Easy to mount on the wall
- Remote control included
Cons
- Found identical versions online for a fraction of the price
- Not a real air conditioner
- Doesn’t lower room temperature
- Weak fan speed
- No cooling technology inside just a fan blade
Final Thoughts
In reality, Epicooler does not live up to its claim. As a mom who has tested and reviewed countless viral gadgets, I can confidently say this one is not worth the money, the stress or the disappointment. If you need reliable cooling, you are better off choosing something with real cooling technology. Your comfort, your kids comfort and your sanity deserve better than a fake AC blowing warm air.
This is just another dropshipped product sold with exaggerated claims and promises, like the Climafy air conditioner.
