Is the EpiCooler AC worth buying? If you’re thinking of buying this air conditioner, this review is for you. Like you, I also stumbled on Ads about this product which led me to place an order on epicooler.com.
Here’s my brutally honest review from a mom who bought and tried Epicooler Portable AC at home. Spoiler alert: It was a terrible experience!
About Epicooler
EpiCooler which is sold on epicooler.com is marketed as a sort of all in one room cooler. Ads and texts on the website claims the device cools down any room in under 5 minutes. It supposedly delivers powerful cooling without the heavy installation or electricity bill.
The ads make it seem like a smart, portable wall mountable cooling system that can cool a room quickly. They describe it as energy efficient, compact, quiet and capable of delivering both warm and cool air.

My experience using this Wall mount portable AC
My order on epicooler.com took almost three weeks to be delivered. When it finally arrived, it was packaged in a cardboard box from Shenzhen, China (red flag number one). No brand markings on the box, no ‘EpiCooler’ written on it.
The “installation” was essentially me mounting it with two screws onto my bedroom wall. It did turn on, and it did blow air. But was it cold? Absolutely not.
At best, it was like a weak desk fan you get at a dollar store, but with a slightly fancier casing. It had three speed settings, and even on the highest, it was nowhere near what you’d expect from a product calling itself an “air conditioner”.
There was no cooling coil. No refrigerant. No condenser.
Just a fan blade behind a plastic grille, spinning sadly, pushing room-temperature air straight into my disappointed face.
And this is where I got upset. Because when you are a mom dealing with real life heat and sweaty toddlers and a husband who always asks why the house feels warm, the last thing you need is a device pretending to be something it is not.
On top of that, the build quality seems very basic. Light plastic. Loud operation. No temperature control beyond simple fan settings. Some people received units that did not even stay mounted properly. Others received packaging that looked nothing like what was shown online. The whole experience feels misleading right from the moment of unboxing.
Is the EpiCooler AC a Scam?
I strongly believe EpiCooler is extremely misleading. Whether you call it a scam depends on your definition, but here is what I can say confidently. It does not perform as advertised. It is sold with exaggerated claims. It is marketed like a full air conditioning solution when in reality it cannot cool a room.
The real kicker? I later found the exact same unit (same body, same remote, same cheap fan speed settings) on AliExpress and Amazon.com. And guess what? It’s sold for three times lesser price.
Alternatives
After digging on Amazon.com for air cooler that wouldn’t rack up my electricity bill, I found and bought two products by DREO that meet my need. The first is this DREO Fan for bedroom on Amazon.com for $69.95.

It is the best fan that I’ve ever had. Blows Strong cool air and you can feel it from practically across the room. It kept us cool in an 86° room at night with it pointed at the King Size bed and the fan didn’t have to be right on top of us.
It wasn’t even on the highest setting! I do wish it were an inch or two wider since I like to keep it pointed right at the bed without oscillating and being wider would allow it to cover more surface area, but it does still manage to keep a breeze across most of the bed.
It takes about 3 minutes to assemble, and that includes unboxing Super easy assembly!
The second product I bought is the Evaporate Air Swamp Cooler. Well, this is quite expensive ($157) but it is really worth the price. On very hot days, I use it, and it blows cold air into the room. Within minutes, the temperature becomes cool. I recommend this one on days it is VERY hot, or if you’re in a hot climate.

Pros
- Sleek, modern-looking design (if you care about aesthetics)
- Easy to mount on the wall
- Remote control included
Cons
- Found identical versions online for a fraction of the price
- Not a real air conditioner
- Doesn’t lower room temperature
- Weak fan speed
- No cooling technology inside just a fan blade
Final Thoughts
In reality, Epicooler does not live up to its claim. As a mom who has tested and reviewed countless viral gadgets, I can confidently say this one is not worth the money, the stress or the disappointment. If you need reliable cooling, you are better off choosing something with real cooling technology. Your comfort, your kids comfort and your sanity deserve better than a fake AC blowing warm air.
This is just another dropshipped product sold with exaggerated claims and promises, like the Climafy air conditioner.

Thank you for your current and honest review.
Great review
Epi Cooler Yay or Crap?
Hi. Thank you ‘so much’ for this feedback. I am left more-so startled of the Internet Company’s and platforms who are willing to advertise these types of bodgy products! It sounds as though it’s false and misleading advertising. I saw another advert of the Epi Cooler, although stated upfront it said: Don’t expect…
Epicooler cannot:
– cool an entire room
– replace a full-size air conditioner
– reduce room temperature by 10–15°C
– work well in humid conditions
– maintain cold air for long periods if airflow is obstructed
One Website is: (dot) com – T*** T***** (thats the ‘wow’ ad that I saw) and the other more realistic site, is (dot) com (dot) au
Sounds like a Scam! I might inform the Au site, just in case they don’t know. (As it turns out, Au is still not an Au Company).
Thank you so much once again.
Absolute rubbish.
Do not purchase the product
Does not work at all and needs to be reported.
arrived today, no manual, a remote that is flimsy and doesn’t work, cool and warm settings not a good range mostly hot or warm, very noisy, no screws just some useless round metal discs that do nothing. no return address. what a waste of money, no more online ordering for me. Off to the Good Guys or Bunnings to get something that will actually work. DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP
Why isn’t consume choice, ASIC, dept Fair Trade and all other Australia product protection authorities taking action against these Chinese business’s false advertisements.
They claim it is an Air Conditioner and heater (To be classified as an A/C unit it has to have a coil and condenser with refrigerant coolant in it) That’s false advertising to start, (even though the advertisement shows it to be built with these components.
This is a simple fan with a heating element in it, and you have to be within a meter to feel it at high speed
These criminals are also charging in US dollars and including insurance without asking
Thank you for your honest review, I hope you got a refund!
Sounds like you bought a fake unit, not from their officil website.
Why are you people buying products that are obviously far too cheap to fulfill the ads promises. Just look at the ads; No address for a start. So what do you do when it all goes wrong. The ads (and there are several) are all from on line promotion companies, so what do you expect. If you are tempted make sure you pay with a Credit Cart, then you have protection under section 75 and you can get your money back. Just remember if it sounds too good to be true – it almost certainly is.
Thank you for your honest review. I have been trying to buy one to try, but every time I put my order through nothing happens.
Have just written to the company with a poor review of my experience. I am so glad I came across this review, as I will now block communication from them
