Do you want to buy Reyou Hair Serum? here’s a honest review from a stay at home mom who bought and tested this pricey hair serum on her postpartum alopecia.

If you follow my blog, you’d know I have been dealing with hair thinning, a receding hairline, and bald patches. So when a woman at my church recommended Reyou Hair Serum, I decided to give it a try but first I did some research to know if it’s worth paying $143 for.

I eventually bought it, and after six weeks of use, here’s my brutally honest review of Reyou hair serum.

About Reyou Hair Serum

Reyou Hair Serum is a topical hair treatment marketed to support hair growth and improve the appearance of thinning hair. It’s said to use NOVOGRO™ technology. In simple terms, it combines three specially developed molecules that are designed to work on two things: the cells responsible for hair growth and the environment surrounding the hair follicles.

Two of the molecules focus on supporting the cells at the base of the hair root, while the third works on biological signals involved in supporting the scalp environment. The idea is to help create better conditions for healthier hair growth rather than simply coating the hair with another product.

It’s available for sale on the brand’s website ‘getreyou.com’. Though, I bought mine off the brand’s Amazon storefront.

My experience using this hair serum

One thing I genuinely like is how the serum feels on my hair. It absorbs quickly, does not leave my hair greasy, and has a surprisingly pleasant botanical scent rather than that medicinal smell I sometimes associate with hair treatments. My hair has also been quite dry for some time, and I have noticed that the serum helps keep it moisturised. So far, I have not experienced any noticeable side effects or scalp irritation.

The biggest surprise came during my third week of use. I am already seeing baby hairs appearing in one of the areas where I have been experiencing alopecia. That is encouraging, especially because this particular spot has been a concern for me. I cannot say with certainty that every new hair is a result of the serum, but I am pleased with what I am seeing so far.

However, my experience with the packaging has not been as positive. By the third week, I was struggling to get the dropper to reach the remaining serum in the bottle. At first, I thought I was using it incorrectly or that I was not turning the bottle in the right direction. I tried different ways of using it, but nothing seemed to help. For a product at this price point, I would expect an applicator that allows me to use the serum properly until the bottle is empty.

I initially thought that because I was using only two drops every night after bathing, the bottle might last six to eight months. Unfortunately, that was not realistic for my actual use. I am already halfway through the bottle, and based on my experience, I would estimate that it lasts around 30 to 40 days.

As a mother of three, I have to think about more than whether a product works. We have other family expenses to take care of, and I cannot comfortably spend $143 on hair serum every month or so. As much as I would love to continue using something that appears to be helping my hair, my household budget has to come first.

Does Reyou Hair Serum Work?

Based on my personal experience, I am seeing encouraging early results. After six weeks, I have noticed baby hairs in an area affected by alopecia, and my hair feels more moisturised. Those are two positives I can genuinely report.

However, my experience alone cannot establish that Reyou will work for everyone or treat the underlying cause of hair loss. The brand suggests that shedding may begin to slow around 30 days, baby hairs may become noticeable around 60 days, and hair may look thicker and fuller around 90 days.

Pros

  • Absorbs quickly without leaving my hair greasy.
  • Has a pleasant botanical scent.
  • Helps keep my dry hair feeling moisturised.
  • The opaque bottle protects the formula from light exposure.

Cons

  • Expensive for a 35 ml bottle.
  • The dropper is too short to reach the remaining serum properly.

Honest take

Honestly, I probably would not buy Reyou Hair Serum again at its current price.

I am happy with what I have seen after six weeks, particularly the baby hairs in my thinning area, and I appreciate that the serum has not left my scalp feeling irritated. But I also have to be realistic about what I can afford. A hair treatment can be promising and still not be the right purchase for my circumstances.

For now, I am glad I tried it, but I would not commit to buying it every month. If the price were lower or the bottle contained more product, I might feel differently. At the moment, the ongoing cost are enough to make me think twice.
