If you want to buy the Sofyre Mouse Repellent here’s a honest review from a stay at home mom who tested this rodent repellent pouches in her home.

So I first came across this product on Facebook. The ads were convincing. They showed mice, voles, moles, and other small nuisance animals supposedly running out of their holes because they could not stand the penetrating smell of the Sofyre repellent.

As someone dealing with stubborn rodents on our basement and pantry, I decided to give the product a try. Spoiler alert; I was totally disappointed.

Here’s my brutally honest review of Sofyre Mouse Repellent which is sold on Sofyre.com for $43 and also on Amazon.com

About Sofyre Mouse Repellent

Sofyre Mouse Repellent comes in small pouches that are supposed to repel mice and other rodents using natural oils. The idea is simple. You place the pouches around areas where you have noticed mouse activity, such as the kitchen, garage, attic, basement, or near possible entry points.

According to Sofyre, the pouches contain a blend of natural oils, including peppermint oil, cinnamon oil, cedarwood oil, and a proprietary essential oil blend. Castor oil is also used as the carrier to help the scent last longer.

The company says the pouches can last for up to 90 days and that the smell creates a barrier that rodents do not like. Sofyre.com also claims that many customers notice less mouse activity within a few days. However, the company also states that results can vary and that the product is not guaranteed to get rid of an infestation.

My experience using this Mouse Repellent

The main reason I went for Sofyre mouse repellent was because it was advertised as an all natural option.

When you have children in the home, the thought of putting poison around the house is not something I personally feel comfortable with. I liked the idea of simply placing a few pouches around the areas where the mice were active and allowing the natural scent to do the work.

Sadly, it did not work. Even after placing the pouches in the areas the mouses frequent. Rather what I saw were mice on the packaging, and one of the packets was bitten open. The contents were scattered, while the second packet was still sitting there with more evidence that the mice had been around it.

For me, this was not a situation where the product reduced the problem but took a little longer to work. I simply saw no reason to believe that the mice were being repelled by it at all.

And honestly, when a mouse is comfortable enough to chew through one packet and leave droppings around another one, it is difficult for me to believe the product is creating the kind of powerful barrier shown in the advertisements.

Is Sofyre Mouse Repellent Effective?

For me, no. It couldn’t repel the rodents in my home. I blame the combination of essential oils, I honestly think the smell wasn’t strong enough.

Other customers describe similar experiences. Some buyers have said that mice continued coming around the pouches, while others complained that the mice had actually chewed into them. Of course, there are also customers who say the product worked, so experiences are clearly mixed.

But for me personally, it was a waste of money.

Subscription Trap

When I shopped from sofyre.com, I believed I was making a one time purchase. Instead, shipments kept coming, and my card kept getting charged.

This is where my experience with Sofyre went from disappointing to very frustrating.

I tried contacting customer service, but getting help was difficult. The phone numbers I tried did not connect me with anyone who could sort out the problem, and customer service felt almost invisible when I needed them.

After looking into the company more closely, I found that Sofyre.com does have a subscription policy. According to its policy, subscriptions automatically renew every 30 days unless they are cancelled. The company says customers need to cancel at least three days before the next billing date to avoid another charge.

The problem is that I am not the only person who says they believed they were making a one time purchase.

I found complaints from other customers who also said they received another shipment and another charge after what they thought was a single order. Some complained that they did not realise they had been signed up for recurring deliveries, while others said cancelling or getting help was difficult.

That is a major concern for me.

A company can sell a product that does not work for everyone. That happens. But customers should be very clear about whether they are making a one time purchase or signing up for a recurring subscription.

Pros

  • The pouches are easy to place around the home.
  • A non poison alternative.
  • Similar types of rodent repellent pouches are widely available.

Cons

  • It did not repel the mice in my home.
  • I experienced repeated shipments and charges after what I believed was a one time purchase.
  • Customer service was extremely difficult to reach.

Is Sofyre Mouse Repellent a Scam?

Based on my experience, I would not recommend Sofyre Mouse Repellent.

The product did not work for me, and the mice showed absolutely no sign of being repelled by it. The bigger issue, however, was the continued shipments and charges that followed my purchase and the difficulty I experienced trying to get help.

I cannot say that every person who buys it will have the same experience, and I am not going to label every purchase from the company a scam without evidence to support that.

But I do believe there are enough concerns for me to advise readers to be very careful.

The advertising convinced me that I was buying a product capable of keeping mice away. What I received was a product that, in my home, did not stop them from coming around, did not stop one from chewing through a packet, and did not stop them from leaving droppings right beside it.

And after that, I had to deal with the much more frustrating problem of repeated shipments and continued charges.
