Is the Cool Cove AC worth buying? If you’re thinking of buying this 2 in 1 heater air conditioner, this review is for you. Like you, I also stumbled on Ads about this product which led me to place an order on coolcoveac.com.

Here’s my brutally honest review from a mom who bought and tried Cool Cove AC at home. Spoiler alert: It was a terrible experience!

After buying and using the Cool Cove AC myself, I can confidently say that this product is nowhere near what the advertisements make it out to be. While the heater function does produce warm air, the cooling mode simply doesn’t. Here’s my brutally honest review.

About Cool Cove AC

Cool Cove AC which is sold on coolcoveac.com is marketed as a 2 in 1 heater and air conditioner. Ads and texts on the website claims the device cools down any room in two minutes. It supposedly delivers powerful cooling without the heavy installation or electricity bill.

The ads make it seem like a smart, portable wall mountable cooling system that can cool and heat a quickly. They describe it as energy efficient, compact, quiet and capable of delivering both warm and cool air.

My experience using this Wall mount portable AC

My order on coolcoveac.com took two weeks to be delivered. When it finally arrived, it was packaged in a cardboard box from Shenzhen, China (red flag number one). No brand markings on the box, no ‘EpiCooler’ written on it.

The “installation” was essentially me mounting it with two screws onto my bedroom wall. It did turn on, and it did blow air. But was it cold?

I shut the windows and door of my room, and set it to cooling mode at the lowest setting of 16°C. The expectation, based on the advertising, was that I should feel some noticeable drop in temperature within minutes.

That never happened.

The first 30 minutes felt like nothing at all. I checked the airflow, expecting at least a slightly cooler breeze, but it was indistinguishable from room-temperature air. After an hour, I started repositioning it, thinking maybe placement mattered. I tried pointing it directly at me, then toward the center of the room, then closer to a wall to “trap” the airflow. Still nothing changed.

By the second hour, I had essentially accepted what was already becoming obvious: the room temperature had not dropped even slightly. The air being pushed out of the unit was not cold, not cool, not even mildly refreshing. It was just moving air around the room like a small personal fan would.

That was the moment the “reverse cycle air conditioner” claim completely fell apart for me.

Out of curiosity, I switched it to heating mode. And this is where things became interesting in a very different way. Within a short period, it did begin to produce warm air. It wasn’t powerful enough to heat an entire room quickly, but it was noticeable and consistent. That immediately confirmed what the device actually is: a basic electric heater with a fan system inside it.

The digital temperature display, which is heavily featured in the marketing, also started to feel misleading. Changing the settings from 16°C upward didn’t seem to correlate with any real change in air output. It gave the illusion of precision control, but in practice, it behaved more like a decorative interface than a functional thermostat linked to actual cooling mechanics.

The more I used it, the clearer it became that the “cooling mode” is essentially just fan mode. There is no refrigeration system inside the unit capable of lowering air temperature, which explains why it cannot physically produce cold air.

My findings as a Consumer and Scam Analyst

Linked to Portable AC Scam

Upon checking for reviews online, the first thing that caught my attention was that the Cool Cove AC is also known as the EpiCooler. There are lots of complaints and reviews from buyers like myself who bought the ‘Portable AC’ and were disappointed.

On further investigations, I discovered it’s linked to other products like the Coolizi Cooling Ace, Sherum Cooling Ace, Glosrity Cooling Ace, Qinux Briza, Libiyi Cooling Ace, Outfany Cooling Ace, etc.

That alone is not necessarily proof of a scam. However, it does raise an important question: Why does the same product keep appearing under different names?

In many cases, the answer is simple. When one brand accumulates too many negative reviews, another website launches with a different name while selling essentially the same product.

This tactic is common among dropshipping operations that rely heavily on social media advertising.

Doesn’t blow ‘Cold Air’

The marketing repeatedly uses phrases like “portable AC,” “air cooling technology,” and “instant cooling.” The issue is that the Cool Cove AC does not function like a real air conditioner.

A genuine air conditioner removes heat from one location and transfers it elsewhere using refrigerant and a compressor system. That is why real portable air conditioners require large exhaust hoses and consume considerably more power.

The Cool Cove has none of those components. Instead, itt’s only a PC Fan connected to a heating element. The electronic temperature displays are all fake. It appears to operate as either a simple fan or a small evaporative cooler. These devices can create airflow and may feel slightly cooler when used directly in front of your face, especially when ice water is added, but they cannot perform the same job as a real air conditioner.

This distinction matters because many buyers purchase the device expecting room cooling and end up disappointed.

Overpriced

Another major concern is pricing. The product is aggressively marketed with a “70% OFF” limited-time discount, bringing it down to around $99. This pricing strategy creates urgency and the impression of a high-value appliance being sold at a bargain price.

However, after some research, I discovered that this same device is being sold on AliExpress and even on Amazon.com for as low as $25.

That difference alone raises serious questions about value for money.

Better Alternatives

After digging on Amazon.com for air cooler that wouldn’t rack up my electricity bill, I found and bought two products by DREO that meet my need. The first is this DREO Fan for bedroom on Amazon.com for $69.95.

It is the best fan that I’ve ever had. Blows Strong cool air and you can feel it from practically across the room. It kept us cool in an 86° room at night with it pointed at the King Size bed and the fan didn’t have to be right on top of us.

It wasn’t even on the highest setting! I do wish it were an inch or two wider since I like to keep it pointed right at the bed without oscillating and being wider would allow it to cover more surface area, but it does still manage to keep a breeze across most of the bed.

It takes about 3 minutes to assemble, and that includes unboxing Super easy assembly!

The second product I bought is the Evaporate Air Swamp Cooler. Well, this is quite expensive ($157) but it is really worth the price. On very hot days, I use it, and it blows cold air into the room. Within minutes, the temperature becomes cool. I recommend this one on days it is VERY hot, or if you’re in a hot climate.

Is the Cool Cove AC a Scam?

I strongly believe EpiCooler is extremely misleading. Whether you call it a scam depends on your definition, but here is what I can say confidently. It does not perform as advertised. It is sold with exaggerated claims. It is marketed like a full air conditioning solution when in reality it cannot cool a room.

The real kicker? I later found the exact same unit (same body, same remote, same cheap fan speed settings) on AliExpress and Amazon.com. And guess what? It’s sold for three times lesser price.

Pros

  • Sleek, modern-looking design (if you care about aesthetics)
  • Easy to mount on the wall
  • Remote control included

Cons

  • Found identical versions online for a fraction of the price
  • Not a real air conditioner
  • Doesn’t lower room temperature
  • Weak fan speed
  • No cooling technology inside just a fan blade

Final Thoughts

Just like the EpiCooler, the Cool Cove Ac does not live up to its claim. It doesn’t blow cold air. This 2 in 1 heater air conditioner only works as a heater. As a mom who has tested and reviewed countless viral gadgets, I can confidently say this one is not worth the money, the stress or the disappointment. If you need reliable cooling, you are better off choosing something with real cooling technology. Your comfort, your kids comfort and your sanity deserve better than a fake AC blowing warm air.
